Finlaggan is a distinctive and affordable peated single malt, hailing from the Scottish island of Islay. The distillery of Finlaggan is Islay’s best-kept secret, but the whisky island itself is world-famous. It is renowned for its smoky whiskies, and that is precisely what Finlaggan embodies; a robust, characterful peated whisky, rich in the aromas of the peat smoke used to dry the malt, and the Scottish coast, where the whisky has been allowed to mature.
Deliciously mouth-filling in peat and smoke flavours. A high ppm content provides powerful peat smoke, alternating with malt, salty undertones, sherry and toffee.
Old Reserve
Powerful peat smoke alternates with sweet fruit, chocolate, nuts and malt. Warm finish, with fruit and chocolate once again in the foreground with strong peat.
Cask Strenght
Rich in smoky aroma and flavour. Matured in bourbon casks and bottled at cask strength. Lovely notes of sweet malt followed by intense peat. Rich in the mouth, oily with a hint of seaweed and pepper.
Eilean Mor
Matured in bourbon casks, presents a full body of spicy peat smoke, with beautiful hints of black pepper and sweet malt. Feels warm and gives a lovely light coating mouthfeel.
Red Wine Cask Matured
Matured exclusively on “hogheads” of red wine from the Spanish Rioja region. This provides a wonderful delicate aroma. A delicious mix of salty, savoury, smoked meat with red fruit and the tannin of red grape skins.
Port Finished
Finished on port pipes and bottled non-chilled filtered. Combines beautiful aromas of red fruit and bacon. The full, sweet smoke aroma is further enhanced in the taste, where raspberries and strawberries come forward in combination with a hint of old leather and firm peat.
Sherry Finished
Finished in sherry casks and bottled non-chilled filtered. Shows a striking sweet note, with delicious influences of red fruit. Mouth-filling, with nuts, dried fruit, orange, raisins and surprising hints of old leather and tobacco.
