Shackleton is a result of the expedition to Antartica by Sir Ernest Shackleton. “In 1907 Sir Ernest Shackleton brought 25 crates of Mackinlay’s whisky along on his ship on an expedition to Antartica.  This whisky’s purpose was to strengthen the teamspirit of Shackleton’s shipmen. An entire century later, in 2007, three crates of perfectly preserved whisky were found underneath what once was the basecamp of Shackleton.”
